The house was built during the 1930s as a new farming estate in the middle of the woods. The original arrangement of rooms was a labyrinth which made the residents feel threatened. Since World War II the house was haunted by “Strangler” – a ghost who made strange noises and appearances throughout the house. More…
The project has made the house transparent by joining the rooms into one large living space with a view to the surrounding fields. The household rooms are incorporated into a secluded block surrounded by built-in shelves and closet.
The house is built of concrete bricks and the façade has been completely restored in its original appearance. The concrete architecture of the exterior gave impulse to design the interior using the same material – the floor, kitchen island and bathroom counters are made of concrete. The original wooden staircase and tile stove have been preserved. The attic floor contains three bedrooms, a bathroom and a terrace.
