History of the building at Kliveru street 3 dates back to 1912, when a yellow brick barn - warehouse was built on the lot. In 1937 the barn was reconstructed and converted into two level joinery. The building thus acquired windows and furnished second level. In 1997 the house was converted into office building. This time the delicate brick façade was plastered and all the details of the historical industrial brick architecture were lost under thick layer of mortar. The building has lost also its original wooden window frames, several window openings have even been bricked up.

Image of the reconstruction project is a CLOUD, landed on the roof of the old warehouse. It reflects the arrival and presence of the new technologies into our lives and historical urban structure. The idea about the CLOUD arose from the computer technology business of VESET Ltd. which was created and still develops in the building. The young and very capable people have made their way to the world market, successfully participate in international exhibitions throughout the world where they are highly approved of their invented product. It is difficult to imagine these young people spending their long work hours in some impersonal box of offices and the architecture of the house attempts to reflect the unlimited character of virtual reality.
We considered several ideas how to represent the image of the CLOUD and the final solution is as follows – the historical house is supplemented with arched metal girder framing the volume of the CLOUD within which the office rooms are organized in three levels. The girder might be decked with glass lamellae which interact with the sunlight and create impression of ethereal cloud. Lamellae might be iron as well.
