The design concept of the Bergs family hotel is the same as for the whole Bergs Bazaar – a dialogue between historical 19th century and the contemporary 21st century architectural forms and function.
Two former residential houses have been united in one volume with a glass covered courtyard between them. A metal framed glass roof historically defines a passage and the Bazaar was lacking such an element until such element was introduced in the architecture of the Hotel Bergs as a result of the renovation. Additional glass mansard floor was also built on top of the brick house.

The interior design emphasizes simplicity and graphical clarity. Clients of the Hotel Bergs can experience the materials used during the Bergs’ dynasty high times before the World War Two: dark oak, black granite, white and gray linen. The Hotel Bergs interior exhibits collection of family portraits by great Latvian masters Janis Rozentāls and Jānis Roberts Tillbergs and 120 graphic art drawings by Ilmārs Blumbergs. Ilmārs Blumbergs is also the author of the conference hall wall paintings and the design of the courtyard fountain. The interior design is supplemented by authentic folk art masterpieces from South Africa as impressions from a common journey of the owners and the architect to the distant country. Logo of the Hotel Bergs is a cabbage as a reference to the cabbage field which had stretched across the site where later the Bergs Bazaar was constructed. Author of the logo is Gunārs Lūsis.
