The aim of the office is to preserve the characteristic, unique image of a historical building or ensemble in the process of renovation and reconstruction and to add to it the function of today's occupant. A successful connection ensures the continuity and longevity of the building's life. The result of the reconstruction is a new architectural quality. The semantics of the foreground and the functionalism of the background - with such a concept of connection, the magazine "Domus" (1999. No. 1) tries to define the type of reconstruction of buildings of the new millennium - the added style. In Germany, it is tried to be defined as building on the past.

Stages of the reconstruction process:

1. historical research, analysis and image definition of the old building;

2. analysis of the new function;

3. the connection of the old and the new, balancing on the blade of a plastic surgery knife within the limits of the architect's intuition.
